Respectful & Fair Treatment of Student

Khalsa College Canada expect students to comply with code of conduct of institute and is committed to ensuring that its learning environment promotes the respectful and fair treatment of all students.

The policy applies to all Khalsa College Canada students who are currently enrolled students in all Programs and courses.

While on Khalsa College Canada premises or in the course of activities or events hosted by Khalsa College Canada the following activities are prohibited:

  • Bullying /assault / harassment/ discrimination ,physical assault or other violent acts committed on or off campus against any student ,verbal abuse or threats

Concerns related to a student’s conduct shall be referred to the Senior Educational Administrator (SEA) or Executive Director (ED) to process in accordance with this Policy. All communication related to this will be in written and a copy will be placed in student file.

Procedure:

If under any circumstances, a prohibited activity occurs, the following outlines the process for addressing the activity:

  1. All concerns relating to student misconduct shall be directed to the Senior Educational Administrator. Concerns may be brought by staff, students or the public.
  2. All reporting must be in writing.
  3. The Senior Educational Administrator will arrange to meet with the student to discuss the concern(s) within five (5) school days of receiving the complaint. If the alleged conduct is of such a serious nature that an immediate dismissal may be warranted, the Senior Educational Administrator will meet with the student as soon as is reasonably possible.
  4. Following the meeting with the student, the Senior Educational Administrator will conduct an investigation and determine whether the concerns are substantiated.
  5. Any necessary inquiries or investigations shall be completed within five (5) school days of the initial meeting with the student.
  6. The Senior Educational Administrator will meet with the student and do one of the following:
    1. Determine that the concern(s) were unsubstantiated;
    2. Determine that the concern(s) were substantiated, in whole or in part, and either:
    3. Give the student a warning setting out the consequences of further misconduct;
    4. Set a probationary period with appropriate conditions; or
    5. Recommend that the student be dismissed from the Khalsa College Canada.
  7. The Senior Educational Administrator will prepare a written summary of the determination. A copy shall be given to the student, and the original will be placed in the student file.
  8. If the student is issued a warning or placed on probation, Senior Educational Administrator and the student will all sign the written warning or probationary conditions and the student will be given a copy. The original document will be placed in the student’s file.
  9. If SEA is absent, ED will be the next person to whom this can be reported and the ED will follow all procedures as listed above.
  10. If the determination of Senior Educational Administrator is to dismiss the student then the Senior Educational Administrator will deliver to the student a letter of dismissal and a calculation of refund due or tuition owing.
  11. If a refund is due to the student, Khalsa College Canada will ensure that a refund is forwarded to the student within thirty (30) days of the dismissal.
  12. Depending on the status of the student’s financial account with the school.
    1. If a refund is due to the student, the ED will ensure that a cheque is forwarded to the student within 30 days of the dismissal.
    2. If the student owes tuition or other fees to the school, the ED will undertake the collection of the amount owing.
  13. All records will be kept in student file, all concerned staff and instructors would be notified.
  14. Khalsa College Canada will do its best to resolve any issue, but if required complaint can be filed to concerned law enforcement agency nearby.
